Hello-and-Welcome png

Hi, I’m Asheritah.

I grew up as a Romanian missionary kid, chasing fireflies in the countryside, writing stories in the margins of my Bible, and falling in love with Jesus one quiet moment at a time.

And that’s still my heartbeat today—helping women just like you delight in Jesus in your everyday life, through Scripture, prayer, and story.

Fun Facts

  • 🥖 I started baking sourdough during the pandemic and now can’t stop. My kids and I love experimenting with homemade focaccia, salted chocolate chip cookies, paper-thin crepes, and bouncy sandwich bread.
  • 🥋 I have a blue belt in karate and dream of returning to the dojo someday. There’s nothing quite like sparring with your friends, getting beat up, and then thanking them for it.
  • 🏊‍♀️ I’ve completed two sprint triathlons over the years and once placed first in my category. (I think I was the only one in that category… which totally counts, right?)
  • 📚 My husband built custom floor-to-ceiling bookshelves to house my ever-growing library… and we’ve already filled them. I still can’t walk past a bookstore without going in. Ever.
  • ☕️ I could talk about Jesus for hours—and often do. But here’s the thing: I’m probably not the one to start the conversation. I’ll happily dive in deep if you go first.
  • 🚐 Every year, we travel to U.S. National Parks in our camper van, roadschooling our kids and meeting readers along the way. Our most ambitious sprint so far was an 8-week roadtrip in the SW. You can catch some of the highlights here
  • 🙋‍♀️ I’m a closet introvert who works through social anxiety at every conference or event I attend—even the ones where I’m speaking on stage. But God equips those He calls, even when we feel painfully ill-equipped. I’m living proof.
  • 🇷🇴 I grew up as a Romanian missionary kid in Transylvania (yes, really), speaking three languages and climbing trees barefoot. I blame that for my love of stories, especially the ones with dragons, danger, and deep hope.
  • 🎧 My favorite work soundtrack? A mix of instrumental movie scores and quiet coffee shop ambience. Bonus points if it includes a rainy window.

My Family

I’m married to my high school sweetheart, Flaviu, and we’re raising our three kids in a cozy corner of NE Ohio.

We homeschool, we read a lot of books, and we visit as many national parks as our camper can reach.

We believe in margin, shared meals, and doing life with open hands—and our home is the launching pad for just about everything I write, speak, or create.

My Ministry

Ever since I was a little girl, I’d wanted to be a writer, and my ten years as a missionary kid in Romania created in me a passion to reach and disciple women for Jesus Christ. I didn’t know about the internet then, but God knew, and He was preparing me all along.

I started blogging in 2013 while on maternity leave with my first child. (I thought I’d have SO MUCH TIME on my hands. haha Oh the grace God extends when we’re naive! 😉) It’s been an exhilarating ride to watch Him open wide a ministry field right from my home, as onethingalone.com has transformed from a simple blog to a resource hub that reaches almost a million women around the world each year.

And at the heart of everything I do is this simple mission: to help you delight in Jesus every day.
