I’m Asheritah, author and speaker, wife and mama, and founder of One Thing Alone Ministries—an online ministry that helps overwhelmed women find joy in Jesus.
I met Jesus in the back seat of my parents’ Subaru one cold autumn night as a little girl. Now He calls me to meet Him every day, whether in the morning quiet at the kitchen table, in the rush of traffic on the road, or in the midnight stillness while I rock my precious baby.
I grew up as a missionary kid in Romania. There, I saw God work miracles on a daily basis, transforming drunkards into devoted moms and dads, illiterate men into preachers, and towns rife with racism into communities where racial healing is beginning.
It’s in the trenches of pioneer ministry that I discovered my own passion to reach people for Jesus, not just to get the unchurched out of hell but to invite church-goers into a joy-filled relationship with Jesus here on earth. And though my family of origin is going through a season of brokenness right now, I am convinced that God isn’t finished with us yet.
That’s my lovely family in the picture. They are God’s choicest blessings in my life, and I’m thrilled to be wife to my high school sweetheart, Flaviu, and mama to Carissa, Amelia, and Theo. It seems they bring out the best and the worst in me, and they love me anyway. That’s true love there. People who stick with you even when there are dishes in the sink, unmatched socks lying around the house, and cuddles long overdue. Because this is real life and we all need grace.
Ever since I was a little girl, I’d wanted to be a writer, and my ten years as a missionary kid in Romania created in me a passion to reach and disciple women for Jesus Christ. I didn’t know about the internet then, but God knew, and He was preparing me all along.
I started blogging in 2013 while on maternity leave with my first child. (I thought I’d have SO MUCH TIME on my hands. Oh the grace God extends when we’re naive. wink) It’s been an exhilarating ride to watch Him open wide a ministry field right from my home, as onethingalone.com has transformed from a simple blog to a resource hub that reaches almost a million women around the world each year.
If this is your first time visiting, I’d love for you to get to know me better. The best way to do that is by connecting with me on Instagram, as well as by joining our email list HERE.
